Joey, I am curious as to what the dimensions for the SMBX Splash screen are? Might you be able to disclose them? Well about the Mario Games I mentioned, I am aware that there are many sites to play Mario games. However, it might bring some more traffic to the site, who knows. You might also try using the other type of SMB3 Sizable blocks on some of the pages. IMO they have a cleaner and smoother look.

Just take a screenshot of the splash screen in SMBX and measure it with Paint.NET - I don't remember them off the top of my head, but I think it's 580-something by almost 400.

I know the old site had them, but I don't necessarily want traffic just coming to play Mario flash games. It's something I'll consider (and obviously I'll use more blocks than just the white one).

Ariana, we can't add much to the splash page because it has to fit in to SMBX's dimensions.

Can't the dimensions be resized? I remember the old splash screen had more content than this one anyway... http://web.archive.org/web/20100406220135/http://www.supermariobrothers.org/splash

No, the dimensions can't be modified, and the current one has the same amount of content (if not more) than the old one.

Well, the game has a scrollbar and so it can handle more content. If you add this and use overflow: hidden in splash.css so the scrollbars don't double it could actually turn out a good one.

How about something like this? I took the dimensions from the splash screen like you suggested Joey and I managed to create this using HTML and CSS. I'm not sure if my HTML and CSS skills are good enough but what do you think. It is original because it has Mario, which everything in the Mario series revolves around. Plus, it makes use of the other style of SMB3 Sizable Blocks, which I see have a cleaner and smoother, maybe simpler look. The only thing I didn't get to add to my version is the border around the images. What do you think Joey? Maybe it's something you can base off of?

Looks nice. Here's the solution for the images (splash.css):
Code:
#splash img
{
    border: solid 2px #000000;
}

#splash img:hover
{
    border: solid 2px #E7D65A;
}

But you should get the mario image out of the #splash div.
Also when I downloaded SMBX for the first time back in the times theshortcut to supermariobrothers.org had a mushromm icon. I'm using Win7 and I can't see the mushroom icon - it just shows the regular "unknown" icon. Here's the download link for the shortcut + the mushroom icon:

I was aware of how to add them lol, I just forgot to when I finally took the screenshot.

Yeah, but the splash screen isn't supposed to actually look like a web page/newsletter/something you scroll through - it's meant to just be a way to access some of the info that's presented on it, and Redigit happened to do so through a web page.

I don't think I'll be making changes to the splash just yet, thank you for the suggestions though.

Changing the topic here, I think for the Online/Offline tab would be nice to use Bowser/Mario flags. If a user's miniprofile has a Bowser flag means he is Offline, and if that user's miniprofile has a Mario flag means he is Online.
